house interior: basics

I'll start with the funnest part of the house: the guest bedroom. If you come and stay, this is where you'll rest your head. A friend of ours compared this room to a bed and breakfast because of the view out the window is forest and a huge mountain across a valley. Come and see!
Below is the guest full bathroom. Also on this floor, there is a little living room area where we have our piano, a desk, small bookcase, and an oversized chair. I'm thinking of painting it a deep mahogany from a paint scheme I noticed at Home Depot. I'm thinking that the next post will be paint colors. This bathroom is still basic, but Mark put together the over-the-loo shelves, and helped me quickly hang the two small canvases before his family arrived Sunday night. It was a mad dash, but we made it! Clean towels included.
Here is our beloved memory foam mattress and serta pillows. I just love getting comfortable here. We finally decided on a more permanent bed spread as well. We found this satiny-delight from Bed, Bath, & Beyond over the weekend. Then our two night-stand lights broke in the move, so Mark found these small branch-woven lights from Fred Meyer and it'll work for now!
Little Buckwheat is still finding his place in this new house and is following me around everywhere. Even more than normal. He even tries to follow me in to this room:
On the counter are possible paint colors. I'm trying to decide if painting it is even necessary with all of the green accents.    ??
Here is our kitchen! My it's a wonderful life having a kitchen again. I never thought I'd miss dishwashing. But I have and am thoroughly enjoying it with a dishwasher and shiny sink. I'm also in love with our electric stove. That's right, it's electric, but it heats up in mere seconds. It's actually sort of scary. lol
We had to improvise on where to place these two bookshelves. The TV is off center by the fireplace below, so we couldn't put them on either side of the TV like before. We settled on using them as hutches for our crystal and silver from our wedding and grandparents. We're still trying to decide what to hang between them. Possibly bamboo sticks, horizontally, possibly a big picture... who knows.  Below is our unpainted side of our living room. Because the TV is off-center because of how the floor plan is, we decided to counterbalance the fireplace with the large screen we bought at World Market, and put our reed-floor lamp behind it. We're thinking of glassing the fireplace. Another who knows, but we DO know something has to change. We love our lipstick and rouge projects.
