hello possibilities

I'm already trying to think of ways to make our home more adult. I don't want floors littered with toys, or a ton of 'baby stuff' that I will use for 2-3 years then hopefully use it for the next kid. What I hope to do is let our home remain as adult as possible and let the child learn how to respect our things. woohoo! Here's to hoping! Instead of a full fitting our big, tall fathers and small mothers on a full when they come to visit, we were hoping to 'upgrade' to a nice queen size for the guest bedroom anyway. Now the time might be soon at hand since we no longer have guest room furniture.  This queen bed doesn't require a box spring, either. Making the bed after laundry just might be more difficult! 

Here is the dresser. PERFECT height for changing a baby; saves me from having to purchase an actual 'changing table.'

bye bye bedroom set

This is the furniture I have had since I was about 7. Tuesday night, the young men came to our home with Mark (who serves as 1st counselor in the YM's pres.) and hauled it away on a sad, snowy trailer. 
There was a family nearby who desperately needed furniture, and we were happy to be able to help. 

Included in this set (for memory's sake): 

1 nightstand

1 full size soft and pillowy matress

1 box spring

1 metal bed frame

1 headboard

1 skinny side table (hiding on the other side of the bed)

1 desk with 7 drawers

1 dresser

1 floor lamp

1 table lamp (pictured on the nightstand)

We thought about selling this set a while ago, but giving to someone who needed it more than us felt even better than a few hundred dollars. I will miss this bedroom set, for sure. It has been sturdy, long-lasting, good quality, and timeless. My mom and dad certainly have good taste.

But I'm pleased to inform that I already have my eyes fixed on a new set.. pictures to come next!
