hanging linen

More of the blog-introduced projects that I think I can do.. I don't know if my crafting eyes are bigger than my productivity, but it's okay if we think we can accomplish anything, right? Right! 

Here is a designed pillow by the shop pi'lo. I've always loved the simplicity of linens hanging to dry outside, and the fabric used to depict this is just ... homey. I love the earthy reminder it gives me: nature is useful! 

groundhog day cupcakes

Groundhog day is next week! Already?! I love storing these ideas away for future use with Mont and this soon-to-arrive baby girl. This is a fun one for a holiday that you normally don't do too much to celebrate for. Groundhog day cupcakes!! I saved the downloadable template to my computer for future use (probably not for next week - Mont is still happy with graham crackers these days - or my chocolate chip cookies).

This morning's post from Stephanie Nielson was about "Job Balls" for her children. Pure genius!! I'm stashing it here for future use.. : )

Job balls.

Asking my little children nicely to do things around the house wasn't cutting it anymore.
I needed something genius. Something that would work. Something down right fun.
So I came up with a plan.
It had to do with colorful balls.
And it had to work.

I wrote jobs down on the 50 soft golf ball sized balls. I have to admit coming up with 50 jobs became hard...after about the 25th one I was writing jobs such as:
"hug sister" or "pick up 10 strands of Jimmy hair on the couch.

I am making a tally of all the jobs done, and whoever has the most tallies, gets to pick out a treat.
Works for them, works for me. Hopefully this will last longer than a few weeks.

stenciled clipboards

I was blog browsing last night (since I haven't done this for so, so long, I have been able to find a whole lot of new ones and links to new ones, etc. - in other words: all consuming), and I came across this freshly organized and decorated craft/sewing room for a handmade businesswoman who sews out of her home. 


Just like me, she has her sewing desk set up in a closet in a bedroom to make extra space. Above her desk, on the closet wall, she has these stenciled, numbered clipboards! I love them! I want to order some... but am trying to decide if I would use them now, or if I should wait until I have my ideal office all to myself... decisions, decisions.

Yesterday while feeling awful, sick, and sorry for myself, I found a channel my mother told me about called "Create." The shows are similar to the PBS shows for do-it-yourself-ers. 


One of the things I learned how to do yesterday was how to Needle-Felt. I have wondered what that meant and how you did it for a long time... and when I saw this iphone case featured on Etsy, I knew I could make it!
