hello possibilities

I'm already trying to think of ways to make our home more adult. I don't want floors littered with toys, or a ton of 'baby stuff' that I will use for 2-3 years then hopefully use it for the next kid. What I hope to do is let our home remain as adult as possible and let the child learn how to respect our things. woohoo! Here's to hoping! Instead of a full fitting our big, tall fathers and small mothers on a full when they come to visit, we were hoping to 'upgrade' to a nice queen size for the guest bedroom anyway. Now the time might be soon at hand since we no longer have guest room furniture.  This queen bed doesn't require a box spring, either. Making the bed after laundry just might be more difficult!
Here is the dresser. PERFECT height for changing a baby; saves me from having to purchase an actual 'changing table.'
It's dimensions:
width: 63 3/4"
depth: 20 1/8" (wide enough to hold a concave changing foam pad"
height: 38" (oo! even better than 36", mom! perfect! nice and high)

2 little night stands. Just big enough to hold a table lamp and a clock.
It's dimensions:
width: 15 3/8"
depth: 15 3/8"
height: 29 1/2"

All of this furniture, at this genius store, is only $677.99 together. Hello, tax return! I get so excited thinking of these fun things.

Hey Jayci~

I love your idea of trying to keep your house your own dispite baby moving in..it's hard, but I've found keeping the toys in organized baskets and having a designated "play area" helps alot. Then at the end of the day you can put things away and still enjoy a clean tidy house. Are you going to put the crib in the spare room too? That's one thing you can't do without, espacially when the little one learns to pull up on things...crib=cage :). It's still working for Cam. I can't wait to see how you decorate..are you going more mod so it can be both nursery and spareroom?

beautiful new furniture!! hooray for tax returns! {we're buying a minivan with ours.}

i am all about having kidspace and living space separate. i'm sure it is just a decorating style and personal preference, but my kids know that their toys belong in their playroom or their bedroom. they can bring toys out to the living room to play with but NOT buckets and buckets of them and when they're done {or if guests are coming over} they know to put their toys back in their playroom or bedroom.
