Since moving in, Mark knew the problem this house had of little closet space (2 closets in the whole house). So the last week he has been working on shelving in our master bedroom and in my little laundry room. He really surprised me with how professional it looks! I love my husband and my new closet! Take a looksie:

Pretty nice, eh? The two long shelves on the bottom are removable for my long dresses or tall boots. I've already taken the first, top one on the left down so my dresses can hang freely.
Below is the "before" picture of the laundry room's unused space:

I forgot to take a picture before I put my things back on the shelves. Before, all of this was crammed onto the one shelf! It is so nice to have three long, sturdy,
clean shelves now.

Now all that's left is painting my laundry room a bright color. It needs to be a happy room.
Thank you, Mark!

That is WONDERFUL shelving!!!! Where did you get it from? I'm going to have to get some for at Dover!!!! Hope you had a happy fourth!
hooray for handy man husbands! i don't know how many shelves paul has built and installed in our tiny apartment. it's the only way i've survived with as little closet space as i have in here. those shelves look amazing..nice job mark!
Hi Marie! Mark got it all from Home Depot. Saws, wood, nails, compressor, and nail guns. It was a lot of mulah - but it still turned out cheaper than hiring someone to do it all. Are you going to ask Pete to do this for your Dover house??
Aubrey - I don't know how people thought we could get by with such little closet space! I mean... we're females. Shelves really are underrated. You and I have a sincere appreciation for them. :) Good thing we have men like we do!
WOW!! That looks terrific! I am so impressed...and wish we could do little fix-ups to our apartment...Our laundry room looks exactly like your before picture. Keep enjoying the "remodeling" experience. :)
wow Jayce! That looks amazing! I'm sure that will be SO NICE to have all that space & extra room. It makes things so much more organized. Mark did a good job! He's such a great husband to do that. I think you should paint your laundry room sunny yellow!!
Your guy's house is soo cute! I can't wait to have a house and a little more money so I can really decorate. We will probably be in an apartment forever, but someday my hubby will build us our own home! I like you blog. I always am looking for ideas to decorate, but since I don't really have a place I want to invest in, I never keep my ideas. But it would be cool to start a blog to keep all my ideas so I am ready to go when we get a place. How is Alaska treating you?
